Naval Warfare [Published by GMT]

From the publisher:

The Kaiser's PiratesTM is a fast paced card game of gripping adventure on the high seas set during World War One. Players control some of Kaiser Wilhelm's ace German converted commerce raiders and light cruisers. Air Patrols were in their infancy and it was still easy to disappear into the vast expanses of the high seas only to re-emerge on another key sea lane. Players use their raiders in the traditions of the privateers and pirates of old to sink or capture as many Allied and neutral merchantmen as possible. Danger lurks everywhere but, in a desperate pinch, these ships can shoot it out with the British hunters.

In its unique game play system each player commands both the German and British Forces as they scour the sea-lanes in search of their next merchant prize. The game rewards cunning strategy, and fast-action card play
Solitaire players, Rejoice! The Kaiser's PiratesTM has been crafted to make solo play every bit as challenging and engaging as the 2-4 player version. So if you have no opponent available or are just looking to sharpen your game play strategies, try it solo. The Kaiser's PiratesTM solitaire version has everything needed for a game session of nail-biting fun!
Here's what the reviewer for The Armchair General says about the solitaire version of the game:

The solitaire version is where this game really shines. The solitaire deck imitates the decisions of a phantom player, leaving virtually no difference between the solitaire and multi-player game. This point alone makes this game worth every penny.... The phantom player in the solitaire game was just as ruthless and clever as a real opponent.

The word on the street ...

[Games Magazine]
“ … The Game has a surprising depth and strategic feel not normally associated with card games. …Obviously designed for plain old-fashioned fun, the game succeeds.”

[Armchair General]
“ With this ingenious card game, you can roam the high seas during the Great War - and challenge other players or even the mysterious phantom player in solitaire mode...”

Game Play:

Each player has three merchantmen and three converted German raiders and/or light cruisers laid out
in front of them. Using the Action Cards in their hand the players are able to attack their opponents ships ...
but knowing exactly the best ones to use at the opportune moment is key to a strategy that will ultimately
win the day!
